In Loving Memory of Martyn Heighton
Posted on 9/11/16 by The Matthew of Bristol
It is with great sadness that we deliver the heartbreaking news that Martyn Heighton, the key figure behind the Matthew Project and in organising Bristol's International Festival of the Sea in 1996, has passed away.
The Matthew was just one of Martyn's many, many considerable achievements: Current Director of National Historic Ships, former CEO of the Mary Rose Trust, Trustee and Executive of the SS Great Britain, Director of Leisure for Bristol's Historic Harbour and management board of the National Trust to name but a few. He was at the heart of the maritime heritage community and will be sorely missed.
Our condolences to with his friends and family at this time.
