August 2021 update
As the summer holidays draw to a close we have some Matthew trip updates for you, and some other news!
We've had a busy summer of trips this year, with around 2,500 passengers enjoying Harbour trips, Avon Gorge cruises, Fish & Chips trips and private hires! Phew, we're exhausted just thinking about it... and our sailing season's not over yet!
Boat trips on The Matthew
Following a great trip in August, we're excited to announce another Fish & Chips Trip with popular local pirate band, Piratitude! Taking place on Friday 1st October and sailing at 5.30pm, this two-hour trip will sail around Bristol's historic Floating Harbour accompanied by pirate songs, traditional folk songs and a bit of comedy, theatre and audience participation. You'll also be able to enjoy fish & chips delivered fresh to the ship by our local supplier.
We still have a few weeks left of our summer season, so if you'd like to join us on one of our trips, head on over to the Timetable page to see all of our current dates and book your tickets. This page will be updated when new trips are confirmed, so do bookmark the page!
Visiting The Matthew
Don't forget that entrance is free if you want to come for a visit, explore the ship and have a chat with our volunteers. Our opening hours are 10am to 4pm, Tuesday–Sunday until the end of October – when we're not out on a trip, of course!
We'll also be open to visitors this August Bank Holiday Monday from 10:30am to 4pm, so if you're out for a wander around the Harbourside, do pop on board and say hello!
And in other news...
It's been a pretty tough 18 months for everyone for obvious reasons but, thanks to the hard work of the Captain and our fabulous volunteer crew, who dedicate their time and energy to provide a great experience to all those who come on board The Matthew, we were delighted to receive a 2021 Travellers Choice award from Tripadvisor this week. We're proud to say that this is the 9th year running that we've achieved this recognition and it's thanks to all the lovely reviews we've received from our visitors. If that includes you, then thank you very much!
If you've visited the ship or been on one of our trips, we'd love for you to review your experience on our page on Tripadvisor. People love to read other's experiences before deciding to visit places, so do add your stories to the mix on this online visitor book!
